Accidentally bend some pins from CPU Socket |
 |
Hello,
I have been saving for my first pc build and finally bought everything I needed.
Nothing too fancy or high tech components.
Intel i5 7500
MSI B250 PC Mate
8GB RAM
230GB SSD
1TB HDD
NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 710
So...
While I was installing the processor to the Motherboard (I was Wearing anti-static gloves by the way)
The glove got stuck into the CPU Socket and I tried to remove it slowly, when I finally got it out, I noticed that some of the Socket pins were bent and I tried to put them back in place with a small flathead screwdriver and installed the CPU again (this time with no gloves on)
So.. everything seems to be working just fine.
My question is..
Is there any possibility that the CPU can be damaged in a long term due to this?
Should I get a new motherboard instead?
Thanks,
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
