Music marketing

Glenn Robinson
Music marketing is direct advertising (Ex: An ad in a newspaper, or online ads like Bing Ads, etc.), while music promotion is more service oriented (Ex: Hiring a press release writer, getting help with airplay, getting on a Co-op compilation album, increasing views, likes, and plays on social media by hiring someone, etc.). The main difference is marketing is stagnant (having an ad, etc.) while music promotion usually offers a guaranteed result based on the service description. That’s why it is important to work only with music promotion companies that offer a guarantee, and have customer service (including phone number, and email) to talk to an actual person.

Have you thought about promoting your music on Spotify? It would be great if you start promoting there. It took me so long to build an audience on Spotify, but a friend of mine helped me and got Spotify listeners to help buy them, for example, here. It doesn't seem difficult to me at this point, so I hope you do the same.
